I found this exercise easier than the loving kindness due to it having less directions that was to be followed. It allowed me to focus on my breath and when I could focus just on that point, I was actually able to acknowledge when there was background stuff going on and then able to let it go very easily. This exercise allowed me to toch on a phase in my life that I have not had contact with in some time. It really felt great to truly relax and just exist.
When our minds are at ease, I believe our spirits are able to communicate easier to ourselves and the higher power and the body can slow down and work the way it is supposed to instead of rushed and ramped up like my normal everyday life. I am working on the mind exercises because I want to live a peaceful, happy, and whole life, not just busy, flyby, and stressed out life. That is not life but a one way ticket to disease.
Very enjoyable exercise.
Hi Tonya, So true it is when we calm our mind the body follows as communication is restored. You are on your way toward living as a whole being, with peace, happiness, and loving kindness. This is a great week for all of us as we take another step forward to increase spiritual growth.
ReplyDeleteAs these subtle feelings continue to be recognized so will their frequency increase, almost similar to automaticity, (automatic response) less attention is required to achieve. You intentions are on target. Best wishes.

ReplyDeleteTonya,
ReplyDeleteWow!! I think you are on to something good. It is nice that you have gotten some benefits from the subtle mind exercise. I also enjoyed it. The sounds of the waves and the opportunity to focus on breathing made it very relaxing. this is one exercise that I will try to do at least twice per week. This will definitely be a part of my "me" time.
A calm mind is certainly vital for psychospiritual flourishing. The spirit is at a higher level of consciousness, so it has to be nourished by the mind.
